Marten Games is a family-run board game company dedicated to creating original games that bring people together through fun, laughter, and memorable experiences.
The Detectorists Big Rally
Our first major release, The Detectorists Big Rally, combines our love of board games and metal detecting. Created in 2022 and refined through four years of playtesting, it captures the excitement, surprises, and occasional frustrations of the hobby through an innovative tactile game mechanic that blends strategy, skill, and luck.
What’s Next?
Our next game, Gnome-o-nyms, is a fast-paced family card game where mischievous gnomes and clever wordplay create plenty of laughs. We also have several other exciting games in development, with many more ideas waiting in the wings.
This is just the beginning of our journey, and we look forward to sharing many more games with you in the years ahead.
Meet Pan
Our logo features Pan the Pine Marten, inspired by an Italian family name and chosen to reflect the values behind our games. The pine marten is a naturally curious and inquisitive creature, always exploring its surroundings — something that perfectly reflects the spirit of our games, which are built around curiosity, discovery and fun.
We also loved that the pine marten itself is making a welcome comeback in Shropshire (where we are based), returning to the woodlands after years of decline. Clever, elusive and full of character, Pan felt like the perfect mascot for a company built on imagination, discovery and fun.
